I never blogged the wedges. (er, platforms.)

These are they. I ♥ them.

Although something about the X in front makes them a little tough to wear with stripes. Am I crazy? I should just get over it. Half my wardrobe is striped.

I did go to American Rag and try on the Elizabeth and James wedges you were all so fond of. But they made me look like The Fashionista Bride of Frankenstein. CLOMP. CLOMP. CLOMP.

The Ariana Bohlings are beautifully made, and surprisingly unclompy. (Though it hurt me to spend that much money, and I bought them in desperation, I'm not regretting the decision.)

And they look excellent with my Scout and Catalogue scarf -- new sponsor over there, did you notice?

I feel like both Mondo and Keith Richards would approve.

  1. They're excellent. And you're crazy about the x interfering with stripes. They do not.

  3. Aren't those technically platforms... aren't wedges wedge shaped? I'm shoe-challenged. Educate me?

  4. I want to see them on a pair of feet. Is that weird? It always help me figure out if I really like a pair of shoes or not.

I bought these from Zara. Haven't worn them out yet (dratted Fargo has been too chilly lately), but they didn't seem clompy when I tried them on.

    5. @lauren these are also entirely faux, if a lot higher and are rather comfortable. http://www.aldoshoes.com/uk/women/sandals/wedges/88212437-hardney/96

@esb, those are bizarre shoes. I also need to see them on a foot.

  6. Those are pretty rad! I've been wearing these from Madewell and they're only mildly clompy and SO much easier to walk in than heels. I only almost-break my ankle twice a day.
