Shoes for the not-wedding dress

So my wonderful, stylish grandma is throwing a fancy party in honor of my marriage (small wedding, already happened). After puzzling over what to wear as not-the-wedding-dress, I found this great vintage item (this is not me but it's the dress).

But shoes? Arg, shoes. This is my last chance for guilt-free wedding-related shopping. I request your wisdom in this situation.

HELP YOU GUYS I'VE GOT NOTHING.

Are you bored with this yet??

  1. Heh, I think the chunky for this dress isn't that great of an idea. It's 50s inspired so I think a more -er, delicate shoe is needed. If I were her I'd definitely go with the nude suggestion.

I don't think color can be out of the question either, though! I love mixing prints and color palates, but that's just me. I'd pick a less dominant color, like the yellow... IDK are bows overdone?

    2. I...I think it was me :| Déjà vu via failed copy/paste (I always have so many typos when I comment anyway, not too surprised I managed this now).

But I was going to suggest these or these.

    3. no offense miss georgia, but i cringed at the thought of glittery/silver shoes with this dress.

    4. Why should I take offense? Different strokes different folks. I don't own any glittery shoes, but sometimes they work. Just thought they might in this instance.

  2. Something simple and feminine, like these. Or those oxfords ESB posted a couple days ago.

    1. And I can't quite tell if these colors go with the shade of gray your dress is, but these are really sexay.

  3. Gah, I'm a sucker for these shopping posts. I'll play (again).

I love these open wedges in black.

(Also: these classic pumps are on sale.)

    Congrats & have fun! xo.

    1. Suede and satin? Really?

    2. Why on earth not? Who cares about fashion police these days anyway? Also, I'd call that a brocade more than satin.

  5. I like the idea of a soft grey oxford, if it was the kind without the hefty sole. I don't have a link though.

  6. I'd look for something lilac.

  7. I'm a big fan on mixing silvers and golds. I think these gold shoes from bhldn would work great.

  8. how about these in pewter or black? more sizes available elsewhere (i'm sure you could find even more out there in internets-land), too

  9. Not sure why, but I'm feeling something chunky in a bright suede. I love the juxtaposition of a super lady-like dress with tougher sassier shoes. Something like:
    these DVFs
    or
these from Aldo are crazy hott

or these as an AWESOME but neutral option
