What do I wear on my Mexican honeymoon?

My fiance and I are planning to abscond to SF for a private ceremony at City Hall before heading south of the border to honeymoon in Mexico this October. We're staying here and absolutely can not wait. I know this sounds like a petty worry in the world of wedding planning hardship, but I'm not getting anywhere on my own, and google is no help. 

The thing is - I want to look and feel completely fabulous on my honeymoon. I want to look in my closet and every once in a while come across something that brings me back to the feel and smells and sounds of the days we spend together there. I want our future kids to see photos and think, damn Mom and Dad were sort of hot. 

I have done the backpacking thing. I have owned my fair share of Chacos and utilitarian bags. But my hostel days are over and I want to - at least for a week - feel more like an international woman of mystery than a seasoned 'off the beaten path' traveler.

My problem is that I can't seem to find designers or retailers that capture this feel and I don't know how to look for them. Can you or your readers point me toward a place or two that will give this flip flop wearing non-profit gal a little Mexican bond girl style?

Fairly medium all around, size 8 in most bottoms, 6 on top, not particularly busty, definitely bigger hips/legs with somewhat smaller top half.

So, I finally watched Beginners....

Which I liked. Did not love.

The acting was terrific, I just got annoyed by all the voice-over-y, photo-collage-y stuff. It felt like a cop out.

What I did love was the Indian cotton caftan that the mom wears in one of the art gallery scenes. Kicking myself for not taking a screengrab from the dvd, but it looked something like this.....

I probably don't need a second caftan, especially since I still haven't worked up the nerve to wear the first one.

a) Should I rock My Caftan to all the holiday parties this year?* and b) If so, WTF SHOES DO I WEAR?

In support of the kaftan...

...I was going to comment on your recent post.  But at the time I read the post the comments on other posts were getting, shall we say, slightly tetchy. And frankly I didn’t want to get torn to shreds. I’m a coward and I’m ok with that.

Anyway, to get to the point (and I appreciate I’m slightly late in getting there) and in support of the venerable garment that is the epitome of all things 70s, I thought I’d send you the above photos of my wedding last year. I wore a Temperley kaftan. I am led to believe that it was supposed to be beach-wear. I loved it. My husband loved it. The guests said they loved it. My brother said I looked like I should be in Blake’s 7.  

And that’s all I have, other than to say that you evil club of mean hipster brides rocks. But you knew that anyway.

Dudes were all over the map at the beginning, but the MAN POLL: Should your lady rock a caftan? results have been holding steady at 60% Drum Circle/40% Hell Yes since I went to bed last night.

What should my viking wizard officiant wear?

My wedding is in November. I am having my best friend of over 20 years get ordained so she can marry me and my FH!

Problem is I have no idea what she should wear? She describes herself, and I quote, "I AM A PRIESTESS..., viking wizard, spiritual warrior, breakbeat loving yogini, tribal queen." Yes, this is her description on her blog. She is amazing and beautiful, I just can't have her show up in an outfit she would wear to Burning Man. Although if we were getting married out there, I would love whatever she wore. I need your help here-PLEASE!
