p.s. do you know that search trick? type into your browser: "site" [colon] "nameofwebsite.com" [space] "search words"

for example, if i wanted to search this blog for toilet brush mentions, i would type: site:eastsidebride.com "toilet brush" (put the search words in quotation marks if you want both words to be a requirement)

i use that trick ALL THE TIME, though it doesn't work as well for searching esb as i'd like -- all the tags on the side of the blog give me false positives. might be time to clean up this space.

Speaking of..... I'm giving The Old Reader a try. It took them a week or two to import my subscriptions from Google Reader (which will be GONE as of July 1), but I've been using it steadily since and I'm quite pleased.

Blog of the Week(ish): Brick House

It's been a while, eh?

I'll be honest, I got a little bored with the internet over the summer.... But now that we own a motherfucking HOUSE, the whole wide world has opened up.

Enter: Brick House

I spent approximately 6 hours on this blog yesterday.

Creating a "for the tiny house" board mostly just so I could pin the FAUXDENZA. Obsessing about kilim pillows (and ducking over to ebay to browse kilim pillows). Debating about whether we really need a new duvet cover (we do not really need a new duvet cover). Realizing we do, in fact, need a pillow-y headboard (Jamie was way ahead of me on this).



Morgan gives me a bit of a complex because she is constantly re-shopping and rearranging rooms that were already gorg. Her house will never be finished. Which is also what is fascinating about it.

The Burning House is hands-down the most fascinating blog I've come across in forevs. Not only do you get a glimpse at people's favorite items of clothing, their most prized possessions, their PETS, you get a wee glimpse, not into the way they actually live, but into the way they imagine they could live.

But I stayed for the winter granita and the homemade peppermint patties and then this arugula/pecan/mozzarella salad with BACON just sort of sealed the deal.

Okayeeeeeeeeee. I realize it's been awhile. Here's a new blog for you! And it's a good one: TeenAngster.

She's got great style (hello Pendleton chic), great taste in interiors (hello aging walls/industrial lamp chic), she has wedding thoughts that are RIGHT UP MY ALLEY, and she enjoys posting photos of dogs and cats and taxidermied ducks.  

What's not to love?

Alison is also a wildly entertaining tweeter, if you go in for that sort of thing, and she's a terrific Pinterester.

I have no idea where she finds the time.

3. I straight-up stole her elegant, uber-long running list of labels.
