HOUSTON, WE'VE HAD A PROBLEM

The Jack & Ginger, which is winning our contest with 30% of the vote, is no longer available in a medium.

Do we give it to the Wren, which is #2 with 21%?

Do we throw the Wren into a run-off with the Vero Moda (which is at #3 if we count Rob's 50 votes, which I think we should)?

Should MSUN just buy this stupid J. Crew dress, which my friend M thinks would be far more appropriate for a Country Club wedding than any of the other options?

Do you guys like this late entry better than anything else??

Is this all too boring for words and should we just GO DRINK A MARTINI ALREADY?

happy friday, ladypantses ;)

FWIW, I voted for this puppy. To be rocked with kil-ler heels. Not wedges, HEELS.

  1. FUCK THE KENDALL DRESS.

Go for the late entry! It's sassy and classy! And I hate myself for rhyming, but it's the gin talking, I swear.

  2. I missed this whole thing because I was overwhelmed by all the non-linked links in that post, but I do like the late entry A LOT (and also your joie pick... I just want that for myself)

  3. Wren or late entry is my second choice. Heels are a must, NO WEDGES. I've already beat you to the booze.

  4. I didn't look at the late entry, but I say Wren Wren Wren.

And someday, you should have an ESB martini meetup. You can wear a chic bag over your head, to maintain your anonymity. Rob HAS to be there.

  5. @Rob whoops. you don't mind being included in "ladypantses," do you?

  6. The late entry for sure, but maybe throw a jacket on to country-club it up a little in the first part of the day (you can take it off later), fgs wear a classic black heel and don't tan.

Ther's a fine line between looking expensive and cheap sometimes, eh?

  7. Ha ha ha....

To be fair, I specified the dress in Navy, and only because I've tried the damn thing on. It's well-made, and SHORT, but very cleavage-concealing, and actually appropriate to the event in question.

To be fair, I actually really like ESB's ringer choice. But it requires GOOD shoes- nothing at all stripper-y unless they're manifestly Louboutins or similar.

  8. Vero Moda! I would have voted that black dress if the Jack and Ginger wasn't there, so that vote would have been higher!

Wren dress and late entry are too average - nice but average, whereas the black one has VA VA VOOM and the Jack and Ginger had elegance and unusualness.

There we go, problem solved :)

  9. I think I beat ya to that drink, although it's just a boring beer.

But I vote for the Wren.

  10. I'm sorry my J&G pick in no longer available in the right size... SARRY GALS. I'll throw my vote at the Vero Moda with gold and color for the feet, nails, and ears.

PS leading the vote felt like derby day with mine that bird.

  11. The Vero Moda is blah blah blah blah blah.

The Wren. Great dress, but I think the pattern is too casual.

The JCrew dress is no good either. She might as well just call up the bridesmaids and tell them to order another because she's joining the team.

I vote for the animal print! Cap sleeves! It has leather trim!

  12. Don't mind the ladypantses at all. I greatly enjoy seeing a lady in a great pair of pants. I'll be at any party. Just would like a 2 week notice to make travel plans. Also, it's fun being in a club of mean hipster brides, I don't have to behave; you're all off the market.

  13. My vote would have been for the other silk dress had I not loved the Jack and Ginger so much (and now I'm thinking I need to order one for sure if they're selling out). But I def like the new entry to. My vote is #1 for the silk, #2 for the new entry (sorry, I adore the Wren but just think the style/fabric isn't 'country club').

  14. late entry. Definitely.

  15. Late entry. Looks totally flattering and has enough class for a CC wedding. I heart the Wren dress, but not sure it's appropriate fir this kind of wedding. It's jersey. Also, sorry @esb, I like your dress choice, but if MSUN is 5'10 and size 8/10, then it sounds like she has a curve or 2 (in the hot way, not In a snotty fash mag way of saying 'fat'). And I'm not sure that dress would work well with curves. Maybe she could pull it off w/ her height, but I have my doubts.

  16. not a fan of the J. Crew, that late entry animal print is pretty fantastic, though I would still choose the Wren as my favorite

  17. I dunno, the Wren is pretty but seems a bit too casual for an evening wedding. It would be great for a brunch or afternoon wedding.

The late entry animal pretty number is cute, but a bit mumsy for my taste.

  18. Vero Moda! That J Crew dress sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  19. NO!!! No J. Crew dress. It seems more bridesmaid at a country club, not smokin' hottie doing a reading at a country club. Animal print late entry. Diggin' the back, too.

  20. I think the lady has way more suggestions than she needs - let HER do the picking and then she can tell US.

  21. ick to the jcrew. it's the worst of them all. the other silk dress (#1?) is my other fave, the navy would be great if it works with her coloring, but I rather like this number as well:

  22. late contender fo' sho', it's sexy and streamlined. The belt is good too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. While I lovelove the Wren dress, I've seen it in person and think the jersey fabric might make it slightly too casual for a country club wedding. Still a killer dress, just maybe not dressy enough...?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Late entry! Those cap sleeves are adorbs.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I still love the Vero Moda.

That J Crew dress has weird boob pleats. Who needs boob pleats?

    ReplyDelete
  26. please NOT the wren dress (while it's lovely for any other occasion) it is soo not country club wedding.

    Vera Moda or late entry

    ReplyDelete
  27. Time to head out looking for new dresses! YCH! Some are too casual, some tacky, some too busy. Wear classic heels, carry a nice bag, wear great jewelry (nothing over the top, think Tiffany's style). This isn't the time to bring out your fashion forward styles by rather go Audrey Hepburn-ish.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Rob when have you ever behaved?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I voted for the wren but now, actually, the tibi. All the way. The j.crew one is AWFUL.

    ReplyDelete
  30. NO TO THE J CREW DRESS. GROSS. I vote late entry with her favorite well-designed heels. And confidence.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Though I'm a little late, definitely late entry now that Jack & Ginger is out!

    ReplyDelete
  32. LATE ENTRY LATE ENTRY LATE ENTRY !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Late entry for sure.

Also, Vero Moda's fit is terrible. Their stuff is not well-cut and the fabrics are synthetic and unforgiving. It's fine for casual, but not for a wedding.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Someone needs to find this puppy for sale online (or maybe the lass who wrote in is lucky enough to live in one of these places.)

    Or this one.

    ReplyDelete
  35. please not the jcrew one, the others ones rock so much more. even then late entry.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The late entry. DEFINITELY.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Why am I still idly shopping for this dress?

Anyway, if you liked the geometric one here's a smarter one in a silk fabric http://www.selfridges.com/en/Womenswear/Categories/Dresses/Striped-cowl-neck-dress_829-10002-55500369/

    I also <3 this sale number http://www.selfridges.com/en/Womenswear/Categories/Dresses/Ruched-side-dress_835-10002-103DL238/

... going to stop now :D

  38. Not the J Crew. Please, not the J Crew.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @anotherringcoming Bursting with pride over here. I've trained you all so well. (OR: You just had excellent taste to begin with?)

    ReplyDelete
  40. That J. Crew dress is hideous. The late entry is awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I stick by the Vero Moda! And if we have a guy voting on it 50 times, what more do you need to know when the reason for looking hot is a guy?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Has she considered getting a dress from Rent the Runway? That way she can wear a designer dress that will mesh well with the country club crowd, but she won't have to spend that much one it. http://www.renttherunway.com/

    ReplyDelete
  43. Eek, sorry to rain on anyone's parade, but more than fabric or length or print or whatever, one thing I think snotty country club types are likely to whisper about is wearing black to an outdoor, afternoon wedding at a country club. At least the more old fashioned types will have something to say about it, so I'd try to avoid that even though that dress is definitely hot.
