OMG. I refer to my mother (the Utah wedding mother in question), aunt, and godmother as the Three Good Fairies.

(They will not be dressing alike for the wedding. I don't think. But I will be suggesting this one to Mom.)

  5. I recently received a J. Peterman catalog and thought it was a Seinfeld gag gift.

    1. Me too. I thought the illustrations were really nice but also thought, What the hell is this?

But seriously, how can we be sure the actually clothing will be like the illustrations?

  7. Don't knock it...long before the likes of anthropologie, et al, J. Peterman was the original source for all things "vintage-inspired". I fondly remember that my prom dress (circa late 90s) was essentially a long creamy silk J. Peterman nightgown.

  8. Forwarded this to aforementioned mother, and she said "when it's right, it's right." Thanks for making her feel stylish!

  9. I always forget about J. Peterman! It's so fun to dig through all the really extravagant one offs. Absinthe Sugar Bowl and Saucer? If only! Time to spread the word so that people don't associate it with Seinfeld anymore.

    2. Agreed, though suspect the fuchsia floral one could have potential, the drawing makes it hard to tell...

  12. Oh dear god. They have an entire section dedicated to English pub signs. This is clearly the best site ever...
