How do I accessorize a SILVER SATIN dress?

Hey ESB.

I'm a bridesmaid in friend's wedding this summer- we're wearing formal silver satin gowns.

Short of burning the thing & going MIA until the wedding is over, what the hell do I DO for accessories?!

*****

Take a tip from The Lana Sisters.

Little silver earrings + silver pumps are the only way to go.

    1. bridesmaid duty this summer is camping at a zen retreat in coastal northern california; pretty sure it won't involve silver satin, but how amazing would it be if it did?

      also, wear this bracelet.

  5. i'm scared of this dress.

what about bright stones in your jewelry? like emeralds? or whatever wouldn't clash with the flowers?

if it were me though i honestly wouldn't even bother accessorizing. but i'm probably a bad bridesmaid.

  6. Isn't the bride doing the accessorzing? Well, she should.

  7. When I read the header to this post, as a Tweet, I too thought - you've just got to go all silver. It's the only possible ironic but respectful response.

  8. oh god I hate silver and all its varying shades after a horrific "please buy these $90 pewter coloured shoes we're getting a group deal but feel free to wear something else" debacle as a bridesmaid last year and also the bridesmaid thank you gift of the "pewter" wrap that might as well be saran wrap and is now sitting in the back of my closet.

  9. Actually, Eva Longoria wore gold accessories with a silver dress here, and that looked great (if the wedding you attend is very formal, which it sounds like it is!).

Otherwise, I would keep the accessorizing very minimal, makeup and hair very natural, if you want to dress it down a bit. Like this, this or this.

Oooh, or if you want to play it more dark and dramatic, wear a deep red lip, like this. Could be good for a late-summer, sultry look.
