So many good things happening at once

1) I ♥ Kirsten Dunst.

2) I ♥ Band of Outsiders.

3) I am a sucker for polaroids.

4) These photos were taken at The Huntington Botanical Gardens in Pasadena, which I just visited for the first time with my dad and his lady. The cactus garden, in particular, is fabulous.

4a) You can get married at said gardens for only $100,000! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

  1. only $100,000?! ;) but srsly, if you're going for the botanical garden vibe for a lot cheaper, get married at the san diego botanic garden: http://www.sdbgarden.org/index.html

  6. @Meghan my theory is that ESB had this super-serious Interview with the Vampire phase.

  7. @Meghan The Virgin Suicides, Eternal Sunshine, and of course BRING IT ON. I also kinda dug How To Lose Friends & Alienate People, which nobody saw.

@lauren What are you babbling about?

  8. Dunst was recently great in All Good Things opposite Ryan Gosling . She's better in small indie movies, I think Spiderman ruined her image for a lot of people. It wasn't her fault that the role was poorly written.

  9. joe and i went there on one of our first dates, so of course i inquired about having a wedding there. too bad so sad for us... and anyone else who isn't a buh-zillionaire.

  11. @ESB I watched Blue Valentine and All Good Things back to back (had screeners) and fell HARD for Gosling. He was robbed at all the awards this year.

  12. @Dawn I want Kirsten + Ryan to star in the feature I'm writing.

  13. 1) i stand by my call.
    2) so this chick i know's sister is supposedly dating ryan gosling.
    3) as i wove through the drunk people in midtown (stay classy, new york), it occurred to me that st. patrick's day is a lot funnier if you think of all of the assholes in green as members of the rival squad in bring it on.

    that is all.

  14. ...but hold up, did you not know kiki was a child vampire? seriously?

  15. @lauren will you still be my friend if I admit I never saw that movie? will remedy the problem TONIGHT.

  16. @lauren weird. it's already in my netflix queue.

DID YOU HACK MY NETFLIX QUEUE?

  17. it's not a seminal film or anything, but it's the first thing i saw with her, which is why whenever la dunst pops up now i'm like "whatever, child vampire," which admittedly is how i dismiss most people.

if leprechaun 4 (the best one!) shows up in there you should probably worry.

  20. The Huntington didn't allow weddings AT ALL until just recently. You could come and take photographs but they absolutely forbade ceremonies there.

I think they got tired of people trying to negotiate a wedding there, and so they put up this ridiculous pricetag so that people would stop bugging them. And, it might scare off the people that try to do a "stealth wedding" where they just pay admission and go do it somewhere quiet. The idea that if you get caught you now owe $100k seems like a good deterrent.
