Colorado Wedding Guest Attire: THE VOTE!

I pored over your contest entries last night (PORED), and it wasn't too hard to narrow it down. My basic criteria were: a) Do I like the dress? and then b) Do those shoes go with the dress?

Here are the five ensembles I'm recommending for our Colorado wedding guest, four out of five of which feature BOOTIES.

What can I say? I'm not a big fan of espadrilles.

from beeprint: Antik Batik Mini Dress for some sparkle and falltime colors, Veda Avery Leather Jacketkh:W earrings because they are subtle but badass + Rachel Comey Tux Boots because they are amazing.

from marisa, the i might get mauled by a bear (or hit on by an elk) but i will look damn good doing it outfit: Acne Moreau Crepe DressMatthew Williamson Mongolian Vest + Boutique 9 Wedges.

Cast your vote quickly! I'm shutting her down when we hit 500.

Note: As usual, I included no chalk/blush/white dresses, even though a startling number of you suggested them. If it's a color the bride might wear (especially at a casual wedding) it is not appropriate for a guest, mkay?

  1. just because it's a wedding in Colorado, why does everything think the guest needs to dress like a navajo princess?

  2. UGH: I hate booties with dresses. I wanted to pick the one without booties on principle but lotsa black to a non-city/evening wedding isn't really my thing.

If one wears tights with booties and a dress, I might give it a pass.

I picked the first one b/c I liked the dress the best and liked the rest of the accessories a lot.

Oh, and open-toed booties hurt my soul.

  3. The functional tunnel dress outfit is perfect except for those open toes. They almost killed it for me but the rest of the outfit is just too good, so it got my vote

    1. people who didn't pick any shoes don't get to show up and be all, "booties are bad."

    4. @lauren there's comfort, and then there's looking like an asshole wearing heels in the wilderness
