Dear PJ Harvey

You rock.

I'm talking about your style, actually, not your music. Although your music rocks too. Obv.

When I came across this image on Hipster Musings, I was reminded of a piece of advice my fabulous new stylist gave me: As long as you have great hair and great shoes, the rest of it doesn't matter.

(She told me she was paraphrasing Sally Hershberger.)

I was also reminded why I cut my hair short in the first place. But I'm liking it longer now that Alexis has eased me through the awkward stage.

  1. i couldn't agree more... but i'd like to add glasses to the list. i think that if you wear something EVERYDAY ON YOUR FACE, like glasses or a haircut, it's perfectly fine to spend too much money on it. as long as it looks good, of course. scratch that-- looks fantastic.

  2. This has been my styling mantra for awhile. If my feet and head look fabulous, I can fake everything else. And you know what? It works.

  4. Hey!. My 75-year old mother says the same thing about shoes. She doesn't talk about hair, too personal:). BTW, I love PJ Harvey but that song Down By the Water (big fish little fish swimming in the water, come back here and give me my daughter) was on the radio when I had a littlish, um, daughter. Not good for over-sensitive mothers...
