I truly can never predict which posts will capture y'alls imagination. Who knew you'd have so many terrific and helpful and bizarre responses to the SEEKING: Stockings post?

(Palmer's leg gloss?? Eeeeeew.)

Anyhoo.

A question did arise. Do men actually think stockings are sexy?

Pls drag a man or two over to your computer screen and make em vote.

  1. I asked my husband if stockings were hot. He looked questioning, and said "... sure...?... Oh, wait, on women? Yes! Super hot!"

  2. Completely indifferent. And they look like they'd be uncomfortable.

  3. my husband didn't feel that any of the responses adequately described his level of ever-so-slightly-positive indifference. I think he said, "they CAN be sexy, but those ones aren't."

  4. Mila Kunis, I believe? I think my husband thinks some types are sexy...others (think Kate Middleton-esque) are just utilitarian.

    1. (if it makes you feel any better, so far this manpoll is proving rob wrong.)

    3. Do I count as male reader number two?

Black sometimes hot, white infrequently hot, nude/tan absolutely not.

  6. Our local man said "but there is no button for 'Depends on the stockings'"

(A man from my distant past, however, bookmarked stocking sites in his "porn" folder, fwiw.)

  7. Husband says, sure! But not in an OMG sort of way. More of a, why the heck not? sort of way.

  8. The photo's from Vanity Fair...always enjoy the pin-up styling.

  9. I don't even have to ask, I've heard it before, "They're hard to get off"

    1. You don't need to take them off if they're thigh-highs. :)

  10. Mike is still trying to figure out the difference between a skirt and a dress, so...stockings are a little over his head at this point.

  11. Husband says "stockings are only sexy when you can see that they're stockings (as in you can see the top and know they're not pantyhose)"

  12. Reply from husband: "Eh? Depends... they can be."

  13. "only for like, costumes, not for real life."

  14. Husband said, "what's a stocking again? (looks at computer screen) Oh, those?"

  15. I FEEL more sexy with stockings on...so I am always sexier to my husband with stockings on. It's a question of attitude in our case.

I would never go to a wedding without stockings.

  16. His response was, "Christmas stockings?"

    1. Hahahaha- sounds like my guy, too.

    2. That was my husband's response also.

      "Christmas stockings?"

Followed by a discussion about it hinging on the type of stocking. Mila Kunis' are "pretty sexy".

  17. I know you're asking for men's opinions, but as a queer lady, I know my partner thinks they are uber-amazing.

  18. Fiance says, "Uber sexy." I laugh and say, "really??" to which he responds, "Well, just regular sexy."

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mine said "Is this a trick question?" and then "No, not really".

    ReplyDelete
  20. Fiance: "Yes. YES. Do you have new ones???"

    ReplyDelete
  21. My fiance loves them. "Sexy time" are the words he uses when he buys me stockings.

  22. Another "it depends" from my man. But I know he can be very appreciative of the right stockings on me. Pantyhose, I think, and perhaps nude stockings, are less interesting, I'm guessing.
(I also suspect that some of the hotness of stockings comes from the extreme hotness of the garter belt.)

  23. My husband says, "as long as they're not skin colored," and I agree.

  24. Boyfriend said "They can be visually stimulating, but they're not very practical and it's always a little bit weird."

  25. My husband here says stockings? Never really understood the point.

The point to me, as a plus size lady is a lot of the time tights and stuff roll off my butt. Garter belts work really well to fix that problem, just cut the crotch out and clip the legs on.

  26. For what it's worth, my husband has asked me intermittently over the years to get some (the thigh high variety, obvs, with a garter - though I don't think he actually knows what that is)...and somehow I have never gotten around to it. I believe he wants the sophisticated-sexy hosiery kind, not campy fishnets - which did not go over well the one time I brought some home.

Who would find waist-high stockings sexy? Like on their own? The whole point is sexy CROTCHLESS time, right?

  27. This sparked a longer conversation than necessary with my boyfriend. The verdict: "they're sexy, but not uber sexy." Depends on the person and attitude/confidence while wearing them.

  28. I'm an escort. Trust me, all men find them sexy. They don't care because they love you, but wear them and blow their socks off, trust me. Kind of like how you don't care if your man looks like George Clooney or not, but if he does then OMG SO SEXY

  29. My husband will have a full on "Squirrel!" moment when thigh highs make an appearance. They are, hands down, his favorite lingerie.

  30. I think stocking are pretty much always sexy. I prefer some kinds over others (dark, opaque ones over sheer or nude ones) but I like them all. They look good with an evening dress or some lingerie. My wife knows, if she wants to give me a treat, she gets a new pair and I go crazy.
