Dear ESB: Will you be my Fairy Godmother?

Hi there,

I love your blog, and I knew that I'd be writing you for advice sooner or later.

Can you help me find something like this dress but white and not in a synthetic fabric? With a V-cut back, if possible, for some drama but something that I can wear again without screaming BRIDE. Obvs, if it's not $$$$, that would be perfect.

I found it in the book Style Clinic.

And shoe recommendations?? Not too high, and the weather could be cold or hot in May. Thank you. Thank you.

No problem.

Will you be needing a sparklepony or a narwhal to ride in on?

  3. I was really hoping you'd be linking to this narwhal: http://www.etsy.com/listing/57491010/narwhals-like-to-boogie-8x10-art-print

Also, how much time do readers think you have?

  5. I vote for a narwal. Sparkleponys are so played out.

  6. Not exactly the narwhal, but how about this? http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/suzi-chin-for-maggy-boutique-pleated-jersey-dress/3141444?origin=category&resultback=313

It has pleating on the torso, plus a v-neck back. I wore this for my rehearsal dinner and got a lot of compliments. I didn't realize until the guests pointed it out, but it's a bit Monroe-esque, which may not be your thing.

I almost wish I'd worn it for the actual wedding, since my stupid long froofy dress was a bit of a disaster. (But that's another story.)

  13. 'and the weather could be cold or hot in May'. Yes, yes it could. If there prizes for stating the completely bleeding obvious, you'd be giving your blubbering acceptance speech right now.

  15. Well, the funny thing is, not only does she write in the ESB, but she also reads the comments!

Thank you, B, Susan and Cara, for helping me out. And to the ESB for making my desires known to the community.

Considering that sometimes ESB DOES find dresses on the internet for brides, I don't think this request was that far out. And that if you are a bride-to-be community, maybe you've also been looking at dresses online. And I DID get some good suggestions. So I don't take it back.

And I'll be looking for a narwhal next. Thanks for all the links!
