g'morning

Did I mention I'm drinking coffee again?

I finally dragged my ass to see a neurologist, and she put me on a new regimen for my headaches. High doses of Magnesium + Vitamin B2, plus a new drug that really seems to be working but offers a wee bit of drowsiness as a side effect.*  Obviously I had to reintroduce the one cup of coffee in the morning.

I wish I could say that coffee has enabled me to write the BRILLIANT ENDING of my script, but I'm not there yet. Maybe if I keep mentioning it here you all will hold me accountable? Either that or you'll get really bored really fast.

Anyhoo. There's a new Dear ESB up on 100 Layer Cake today, on the scandalous topic of attire for the mother of the bride.

  2. Do you often get migraines? I get them constantly and my doctor simply told me to go see a gynecologist and then re-prescibed a medicine that doesn't work for me. How do you feel with the Magnesium and Vitamin B2?

  3. @Adrienne I've been struggling with daily headaches for 12 years. the vitamins help, but I also take Topamax and I just started on Nortriptyline. email me if you want to talk!

  4. I ditched coffee entirely for about six months (in favor of tea), and then significantly cut back on my coffee drinking up until recently. I've started drinking it a lot more again. I drink a lot on the weekends, but keep it to a couple cups on weekdays/at work (and then move onto tea later in the day).

Honestly? I have a lot more energy. And I forgot how much I MISSED a really good cuppa.

  5. ESB, have you ever seen a chiropractor? I have had headaches, almost daily, since I was a teen, and I recently started seeing a chiropractor for an unrelated reason- and my headaches disappeared! My chiro's like an angel from heaven as far as I'm concerned.

  9. Ah Topamax. I miss carbonation and being able to do math. I'd been keep the migraines away since I started the drug w/ just 50mg per day but lately I've been having some breakthrough headaches. I really don't want to increase the dose during winter and increase the tingling in my hands so maybe I'll talk to my doctor about vitamin therapy. I've been on Nortriptyline in the past as well, but not at the same time as Topamax.
