  1. so, uh, being an antipodean, I don't quite understand the reputation of Free People, but I'm guessing it's...bad (as in non-ESB approved)?

    1. It's the same company as Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and BHLDN, all of whom tend to see cool shit on etsy then manufacture it for their stores independently of the original artist

  2. Richard Hayne, President and CEO of Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, BHLDN and Free People is a supporter of Rick Santorum and donated over $13,000 to him. He’s against gay marriage and abortion.

His company pulled a pro-gay shirt back in 08, they also blatantly ripped off an Etsy designers work, featured a t-shirt for women that said “eat less” and most recently had a card with a “tranny” slur on it.

There are other places to shop.

    1. The irony is that Urban Outfitters is one of the best resources for masculine/butch/genderqueer women because they carry men's XS slim cut shirts. Plus, the men's aesthetic owes a lot (i.e. appropriates) queer and dyke style like mad.

I'm trying to get more of my shirts off eBay. Til that works out, I'm going to keep buying shirts there.
