Seeking: a RACERBACK wedding dress

Why so few?

I'm not a super sporty person or anything, but I know that my top half looks dang-good in a racer back. My wedding is outside, but a lot of the racer back gowns I've found are all froufrou on the bottom.

Suggestions?

Is this Acne racerback enough for you?

Because, yes, DAMN ARE THEY HARD TO FIND.

  3. Love the Acne dress.

Like, half of Nicole Miller's dresses have some sort of racerback or attention-getting back treatment.

this one isn't racerback but I really like it
    twisted back, marilyn front
drapy--like this one a lot, too
again, not racerback but similar idea
    very cool back--here's another image

    Just to poke the bear:
    JCrew!

    3. That was my wedding dress. It was gorgeous in both indoor and outdoor light and so comfortable. But for anyone who actually buys it: make sure whoever alters it knows how to work with silk cut on the bias. Mine didn't and it was a bit of a long haul. But it all worked out and it was truly beautiful if I do say do myself. P.s. the back is the best part.

  4. Just spotted this dress. Hope you can find more about it because I'm horrible at that sort of thing. I think it's beautiful.

  5. ESB's pick and Nicole Miller are good calls. I found this Giambattista Valli here or here, a knee-length Donna Karan, and this Rachel Pally.

  6. Not sure about your budget or the style you're looking for, but here are a few more options: Giambattista Valli ; Zimmerman; J. Mendel; and Lanvin.

  8. Morgan Carper does a simple, slip-style frock. I also like this Evelyn gown from Thread.

  9. I wore a Saja dress for my wedding that had really pretty back detail. http://sajawedding.com/collection_permanent.html, it's the HB6639. It's not exactly racerback, but similar.

  10. And because I can't stop:

    Matthew Williamson

And not really racerback, but someone needs to wear this

  14. I have to say that I'll never understand why on earth someone would name a clothing brand "Acne". (loved the dress tho)

  15. I'm a fan of racer backs, too. I wore a racer back top with a skirt for my wedding, so I'm pretty much an expert in racer back stuff that was available a year ago.

Haider Ackerman, Alexander Wang, Tibi, Phillip Lim, and Acne usually have beautiful racer back stuff available.

I ended up dying a double layered sheer polyester Zara top, but I really regret not just wearing a Madewell perfect racer back tank with the Christian Siriano skirt. It probably would have looked a lot better and much more my style.
