Seeking: Valentino heels (for a gazillionth less)

Hi ESB,

So my FH and I are getting married at the end of October. Basically all I want is these shoes for a gazillionth of their actual price. We are getting married on a fruit farm with a little French style courtyard, cobbled stones and all. So, I love the idea of the midi heel on these Valentinos, plus I want to keep these babies on while dancing all night. And no, I don't have a dress yet - but I know it won't be white and it will most probably be an off the rail vintage lace thing.

Here is the catch - I live in South Africa and since the rest of the world thinks that people in Africa don't do online shopping I can't get anything delivered here. But my salvation is that I will be spending about 3 months in Paris from April. So will the good people that read this here blog please scour the net for me?

Thank you so kindly,
Shoe-a-holic.

Let me get this straight....... You're about to go to MOTHERFUCKING PARIS, but you want us to shop shoes for you on the internet??

  1. Save ALL YOUR MONEY for Paris!

And pick up a gift for your groom at Shakespeare and Co. (famously dusty little bookstore) of the original-copy-romantic-poetry sort.

Do you all know that the incredible old man who owned that place recently passed away? :(

  2. If you're not going to save your money for Paris, Zara has these in gold in the store: http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/us/en/zara-us-W2012-s/330007/1040531/BALLERINA%20WITH%20STUDS%20AND%20STONES

    1. I thought of that pair, too, but you beat me to 'em, Anna. I also found these, which you could add sparkles to (with OMG! DIY GLITTER!). You could also shop vintage.

    2. Yep, Anna beat me to 'em too. Though I will say that Zara shoes tend to be pretty uncomfortable, so watch out for that.

  4. So. i say splurge on the Valentinos in Paris. Go to the real deal, buy the real thing. you love them. save those pennies by getting a less expensive dress. Worse case scenario? you wear them once on your wedding day and then re-sell them on eBay.

    1. Are these not them at Neiman? $1,395.00 (still nothing to sneeze at) + a $200 giftcard if you order online today.

I realize the pictures are in black, but the ordering description says silver?

    2. That's still over $1,000 for shoes...

    3. Yeah, if you are willing to pay $1400 and are an 8.5, here they are at SAKS.

BTW: while looking for those, I found these and I WANT.

  5. I thought of those Miu Miu pumps. Still pricey, but less than the Valentinos.

But you should get the dress first. And go shoe shopping in Paris.

    1. Yes--dress first. Then shoes.

  6. Yeah, you're doing it all backwards. Shop in Paris first, and then order online while you're there if need be. And seriously, get your dress first!

  7. dress first. seriously.
