wedding dress ambivalence (part two)

You guys? I just tried my dress on again. Um, our wedding was eight months ago.

But Joanna's Smitten post about my wedding dress ambivalence post and the gajillion reader comments freaked me out a little.

The good news is my dress still rocks. The bad news is I'm a big dork. Oh well.

  1. so... my friends are getting married in joshua tree. i know. i was thinking of wearing my dress. maybe even with cowboy boots? i mean, it's not too bridey to wear to someone elses wedding is it? plus, no one who was at our wedding will be there.

  3. oh no you're still ambivalent? so i will never be sure even after the wedding. by the way, i like how your blog has evolved since after your wedding. you didn't abandon it and you didn't totally change content.

  6. I'm not sure why you are freaked out. Your dress was amazing. I know. I have two of the only three pictures of it on the whole public internet. ;)

  7. dude. I totally tried on my wedding dress the other day. I got married almost 4 years ago. Isn't it fabulous you love your dress so much that months (ahem years) later you try it on and still smile? [And you want to talk about dorkiness: up until maybe 8 months ago, I still had wedding dress ambivalence. And then I tried it on then (we're kind of in the process of moving) and *loved* it. Even though i tell myself that it's a simple dress, so it's easy to slip on, that's dorkiness, my friend.]

  8. Jamie, have we had this conversation before? Technically, no one but the bride is supposed to wear white.

Maybe just find out what her dress looks like.... If she's going big and poufy you're probably in the clear, but if she's going short and white I wouldn't wear yours.

  9. I don't think you're a dork. I don't think mom thinks you're a dork.

    Mike thinks I'm a dork.

    Mike is a dork.

  10. Dude my dress isn't even white. I think maybe I thought about wearing a little white to another wedding? And there was discussion? The current bride in question is wearing a long white j crew number.

I dunno you might upstage her. Cuz it is hella cooler than J. Crew.

  12. Nope. Not white. Plus, it is short. And, with the boots? Anyways. I am close enough with her, I can just ask. I am more worried about re wearing it too soon, don't want to take away from the special-ness of it.

  13. Well, just to clarify: I am a dork. First-class, 100%, no getting around it.

It's nice to know I'm not alone.
