terrific news for non-traditional girls everywhere

Catbird (my fave Brooklyn jewelry store) has finally launched their new site. I've been waiting for this shit for months. I am not exaggerating.

May I suggest the above pop-art-meets-carrie-bradshaw Melting Love Ring for an engagement?

The Yayoi Forest Lucky Seven Diamond Ring would also be a stellar choice.

But go browse all the rad options for engagement rings and wedding bands.

Just don't blame me if you end up in the Wood Nymph section buying a crystal necklace. (Leave it to catbird to make crystals look cool.) Or in Intrepid Explorer buying a Tsuyumi Hunter's Cap for your faux hunting trip.

p.s. Damn you all
for updating the furry hat with plaid. I want it.

  1. i'm not sure why you insist on finding jewelry that i like and then make me want to buy it all.

  5. so.... i have a bunch a crystals. please don't ask me how or why, but i do. and, i was afraid to drill a hole in them, so i settled for sort of wrapping them in some leather, making a necklace.

    you'd hate it.

but fuck it. this is throwing me over the edge. i'm gonna drill that shit.

  6. drill. it.

(leather wrapping makes me think of girls with no crafting talents to speak of selling things at craft fairs. or dead shows. I'm not a fan of wire wrapping either.)

  7. rest assured, i would not touch "wire wrapped" crystals with a ten foot pole.

  14. Liv, it has been swinging down to 45 at night. Cold enough that I felt like a supreme dork wearing my flip flops last night...but you're right. It's not really furry hat weather :S

    A girl can dream.

  16. You should really consider becoming a wedding planner. I love your ideas...especially that LOVE ring ;)

  17. i'm proud to already own a rocking pair of earrings from catbird, so it's nice to browse their current collection from the laziness of my home.

also, it's not just LA. i remember breaking out my trapper hat as early as october in past years, but haven't felt the need for it yet this year...must be global warming.

  18. I came on to comment about how my dorky 10 year old girl love of crystals has now had a sudden resurgence, but now I'm distracted by the thought of you as a wedding planner. I'm thinking of all the tough love you would dole out. Wedding planner wouldn't be the right name though. Maybe wedding coach? But in a boxing coach kind of way, rather than a new agey happiness coach kind of way. Instead of long, gushing wedding planner emails you could send short terse notes like "no, you are crazy. stop it." There could be a huge market for this. I demand a cut, for coming up with the concept.
