oh look, it's monday again.

I suddenly find that my feed reader is empty.

Is no one blogging anymore? Where are all the good blogs??

Also:

Stream the new Beck album over here. It is super soundtrack-y and terrific.

Who binge-watched House of Cards this weekend? I had to give up halfway in. I so wanted it to be good but RAYMOND TUSK RAYMOND TUSK RAYMOND TUSK. Who gives a shit. (And the fucking lighting was driving me bananas.)

I found your wedding wrap. It comes in four colors !

  3. OMG no spoilers, you guys!!!! I'm only two episodes in. Season one was soooo good so I have high hopes it will continue...

  5. 1. honestly, I was a little relieved to see my feed so sparse. it makes me all anxious when I log in and see the stupid little 99+ bullshit button. side note: I hate Bloglovin'.

    2. I FORGOT ABOUT HOUSE OF CARDS. shit! we've been binge watching Dexter, but are about a third of the way through season 5, and I must agree with 90% of the planet: it got lame.

    3. I can't even pretend to try with my blog(s) any more. I should really care about the whole Scout + Lilly one, but everything I post is utter shit. (having a full-time day job and a full-time side job is no joke, and trying to muster feigned enthusiasm for a blog seems pretty useless after a certain point. maybe I should take a leaf out of your book and keep it short and hella simple.)

    4. disregard the fact that I said "hella." I still live in 2002.

  6. 1) NEW BECK IS SO FUCKING GOOD.
    2) Not blogging is WAY FUN.
    3) HOUSE OF CARDS. The first episode was juicy and then I fell asleep.
    4) I may purchase that wrap for non-wedding wearing. Because I'm already married, it looks comfy, and I only wear comfy things these days.

    xo,

  8. I have a hard time with the on-off accent. I'm only 3 episodes into this season but I have to keep re-watching to catch up because I have fallen asleep halfway through every single one.

I keep meaning to blog but that means I need to get photos off my camera and onto my computer and man, does that seem like a huge hurdle lately. What you're missing - we're STILL installing cabinets in our kitchen, currently searching for bedside tables (maybe we'll use crates instead?) and then we need to put lights in the kitchen. Last week I didn't cook anything and just ate smoothies for dinner everyday because it seemed easier.

    1. ALSO - I am learning macrame. D is insisting on house plants and I decided that if I'm giving in to house plants I might as well go the whole way.

    3. I think there's a certain chic about an empty tumblr.

  10. Sigh, it's all true. The Internet is only offering things I don't care about. 1) blog, 2) HoC, 3) Olympic updates--I'm sorry, I just, can't.

It does have tons of shit I want to buy for my house though?

  11. I have one blog and two tumblrs and instagram and pinterest and FUCK IT ALL. I think I'm done with them.

I'd much rather dish about things face to face, with a drink in hand.

  12. I also blog, but not well and not often.

But now I know the next purchase I must make. That wrap is awesome.

  13. ESB- this wrap/shawl cardigan/cape thing is amazing in person. I read your post last night, went today, bada bing bada boom this is my wedding wrap. Looking forward to wearing it in life as well as it is a super cool garment in general.

    1. Light pink. More of a soft tangerine-sand color in person.

  14. I hate Raymond Tusk. That conflict seems so pedestrian. Michael and I are only 3 episodes in but I already commented on the hamfisted lighting and staging.

Home with the newborn, I've been binge-watching The Good Wife. I like it pretty well--nothing revolutionary. But now I'm up to S5 and I can only find it online on CBS's shittyass site (the videos keep ending in the middle of them - the fuck?).

Have you watched True Detective yet? I heard it's awesome. And, as June says, Top of the Lake is amaze if you haven't seen it.

I want to get back to blogging but you probably won't care much about what I write. Like my Instagram, it'll probably just be all BABIES! now. I'm obsessed.

I love Zara's whole look but I've never found much to buy when I actually visit the stores. I have a winter jacket from them that the zippers all started breaking on (I got stuck in it once and had a panic attack ala Carrie trying on wedding dresses). I like the coat but the zippers are gold, so I don't know how easy they'd be to replace.

Oh my god I'm boring. Gonna go email my pediatrician and listen to Beck.

    1. True Detective is great. As are Top of the Lake, The Fall (British series you can get on netflix), and Looking. We've also been binge-watching West Wing. The writing is so good -- I think that's partly what ruined me for House of Cards.

    2. West Wing is great for at least 4 seasons, but it starts declining. I think I stopped watching after s5? Plus, Aaron Sorkin is a genius but his shows are SO recycled (half of the lines and plots on Sports Night are reused on WW).

House of Cards has just lost the plot. That said, I never thought it was THAT great. I won't blather on here, but it's always had it's faults.

    3. Interesting.... I never watched Sports Night. As a writer, that makes me feel better actually because JESUS CHRIST HE WROTE EVERY SINGLE EPISODE

    4. Yeah. He wrote or co-wrote almost all of the first four seasons (glancing at Wikipedia quickly, I saw 3 eps out of almost 90 that he didn't do).

You watch Newsroom? Michael loves it, but it doesn't feel very fresh to me (after seeing all of his other stuff).

      God, I love TV.

    5. Yeah, we're way into Newsroom.
