Country Bumpkin I ain't

Hello ESB,

After weeks of searching the canyons of Sedona, AZ, my patient and loving fiance and I have found the perfect veunue that will give us our freedom and give us the wedding we want for under $10K. The venue is called Indian Gardens Park and it's a bit outdoorsy, but a whole lotta lovely.

My thoughts are this: can I find a dress for $400-$900 that will fit the outdoorsy county theme, but which won't look made from a table cloth?
Thanks ever so.

Colors attached (apricot for a wedding dress? yes please! If they even make them...)

  8. Ooh, love that Calvin Klein dress.

You are probably kidding, but what's the difference b/w apricot and peach? Is it pinker?

  9. If you wear it outside doesn't that make it outdoorsy by the associative property?

This is "coral" but why not?

  10. Maybe we can baby-step into the wedding romper idea with a wedding jumpsuit? In Apricot, no less?

Sorry, I just really would rather shop online for other people's clothes today than have to fill out stupid excel spreadsheets at work.

  12. This is the hardest colour to find. I tried looking for it for mine and just gave up! SO i want to help:

If you like a floral pattern this Derek Lam for ebay could work http://fashion.elle.com/fashion/2011/02/09/first-look-derek-lam-for-ebay/ But not available yet http://dereklam.ebay.com/

This is a 'look' I found. But no idea who made the dress http://pinterest.com/pin/4866595/

Another idea is to wear a cream/oatmeal/white dress with a little apricot jacket or cardigan or jewellery or shoes.

  13. Thanks ESB! This is a great find - After all that, I ended up giving up my apricot dream a few weeks ago. Blessedly, A wedding angel swooped in (how come no one mentions those kind souls who appear outta nowhere during the wedding planning?) and bought me something not apricot and not outdoorsy, but perfect.

  15. Amelie - that dress is batshit GORGEOUS. I'm normally not a fan of strapless, but the sweetheart neckline and draping is really beautiful.

  16. Deep breath, ok... I GOT ENGAGED LAST NIGHT! After nine years. We've been together since we were 15 and last night he proposed in a giant Hollywood studio. It was amazing. I have my go-to ten favorite wedding sites and I just had to come and share the good news. I'm a stylist in LA, born in the south, and I have a celebrity fashion blog but today it's sorta turned into a wedding site. Would love if you checked out the dream proposal. Love you site. Thank you for all the inspiration. xoxo

  18. Anon here again...I have to be honest, seeing the ads was such a shock. And yes, I just read through all the old post until I found "the one" that explains the ads. I bet your still conflicted huh? Or maybe not. Are you calling me a bitch for bringing it up months later? I'm sorry about that. Even though you have succumb to the dark side, your blog is still cool.

  19. @Anon we've gotta pay the rent over here on the dark side. and my sponsors are rad. it's really only the shopbop/net-a-porter shit i feel conflicted about.

  20. Same anon again and I completely agree with you. To me that Net-a-porter shit makes the most sense. You have NO IDEA how many outfits I have found from linking over to net-a-porter from here.
