f*ck peonies

I'll take Queen Anne's Lace any time. Especially when it can be found on the side of the road.

Check out Chelsea's linen and lace post on Project Wedding.

  7. Queen Anne's lace will always be first and foremost in my heart, simply for the fact that it beat out dandelions when I was a child and it took me until I was twenty until I knew what a peony was. Uh oh.

And, yeah, baby's breath is very 1990. You want to be modern? Go more vintage than 1990. Just sayin'.

  11. Ha. Of course - queen anne's lace, combined with seeded eucalyptus are my "non negotiable" flowers. Most give me the stink eye when I inform them of this, but sigh.

    I love.

  12. I love checking out your blog as the range of topics and good taste of styles are so exciting and the photos are great. However, your unrestrained use of expletives make you sound very dumb, i.e, can't find words to express what you mean, and down right trashy. Unfortunate.

  13. Ahh, I love the f*ck out of you east side. But seriously, peonies are still the best. Ok, second best. Sweet Peas will always be my fav.

  14. please don't hate me for saying this, but the flowers in the photo make it seem like Queen Anne's Lace looks eerily similar to ragweed... which I am horribly allergic to. It just gave me a visceral reaction. I guess I just like less "dainty" flowers. obviously I'm not a fan of baby's breath either. Give me a big fat tiger lily. :)

  17. i suggested to my mother that instead of buying wedding flowers we should just snip a few branches of the bright pink bougainvillea that grows rampant on the side of every freeway in arizona... no one would miss them.

i was prompty shot down. apparently it might be illegal. oh well.

  18. illegal shmillegal. kiwi, don't let silly laws thwart your true love.

and also, "shmillegal" is far more awkward to say than i'd intended.

  20. Amen! I am over peonies (although they are beautiful). I have been thinking of using tons of baby's breath at my wedding. When used alone and in large amounts its actually quite beautiful...
Don't worry, I wont put it in my hair.

  21. I got this for my flower arranging advertising thingy ma bob, and I had such a hard time using it, which pissed me off, because I love it so much. I think my mistake was trying to use it WITH other flowers, instead of just letting it rock things on it's own.

  22. Oh. Hee. I just saw the anonymous post on your unrestrained use of expletives. F*cking ridiculous. Hee.
