Are you guys up for another shoe challenge?

Hey ESB,

I come to you with a conundrum.

I have been unable to find decent looking low wedge or chunky heeled shoes. I say decent because, so far, I haven't even found decent options. I'm getting married in the great outdoors and need something that won't cause me to sink into the ground- so please no high heels. And I don't want to be towering over my groom, so no higher than three inches.

Can you and your readers help me out?

Many thanks!

Here is my dress [pictured above], only imagine a pinkish color under the lace.

I bought these shoes on a whim but I'm undecided.

Dear ESB,

I emailed you last week when I at least had one potential option. Now anthropologie has emailed me to let me know the mini wedges aren't ever going to be available- and now I'm down to zero options.

Help me, ESB-kenobi, you're my only hope

I'm stumped.

ESB-kenobi fail :/

  1. If you want ultra-femme, I'm kind of in love with these

  2. I wore these Seychelles at my outdoor wedding with my lace dress. They're super comfortable and the ankle strap never showed. I wore them in pewter, which is really a silvery, gray, purplish color. They were great on the grass and for dancing all night.

If it was a hideous choice, please don't tell me now. Just move quietly past...

    1. Oh! I also wore Seychelles at my outdoor wedding with my lace dress. Got 'em in "off white" (beige/gold). Extremely comfy on grass and for dancing. And yeah, also please don't tell me they were a hideous choice!

  3. I am pretty sure ESB dislikes cowboy boots with wedding dresses...but, that is what I did with my lace dress for my wedding in the great outdoors (a dusty old dude ranch), and I loved it.

  4. You didn't specify a price limit, but these Loeffler Randall wedges in pale gold metallic leather are divine and would be pretty peaking out from under that dress.

  5. Thanks for the suggestions so far- I'd like to stay under $350 if possible. I can't believe I've stumped ESB.

    3. loeffler randall all the way. they're worth it.
i wore the LR Tasmin in snake for my outdoor wedding and they were not a problem. and definitely not to high. I broke my ankle a few years back and have terrible issues with heels that are too high. imjustsayinisall....

    4. Although, obsessive-self-promoter-Kate has a point about those Marc Jabobs wedges...

  8. Snakeskin Wedges ?? No?

Are you looking for close-toe? What about goldy DVF Wedge?

That dress looks like it belongs with a glitzy sandal and not really a chunky wedge.

I like these, but I'm not sure how cheap they are.

  9. Random question: am I the only one who would never want to look down at my feet peeking out of my wedding dress and see my toes? Does anyone else have an aversion to open-toe shoes with their wedding dress? I wear them lots otherwise, but for some reason, I don't want to see toe (my toe) at my wedding.

    1. Nope, I'm with you. Toes and heels, I want those all covered up. I went to a HORRIBLE wedding a few years ago (the stories I could tell), and the mother of the groom wore slingbacks accessorised by the most gnarly, scaly cracked heels you ever saw. I have never seen such deep, blackened cracks in anyone's skin. It was repulsive, and put the fear in me.

  11. These Marc Jacobs wedges are cute <a

Also, having worked at Anthro, I suggest going to an actual store and seeing if they can hunt those shoes down for you. A lot of their stores now carry shoes and they're really good about finding items in store.

  12. Okay, so clearly I'm on a mission to contaminate esb with non-trendy brands, but I spotted these a little while ago and I'm quite taken with them...

  13. Try JCrew for some cute low heels. Sorry, no link cause I'm traveling and tired :(

  14. Ladies, I cannot speak highly enough about http://www.shoesofprey.com/ these folks -- you can design your own low wedge in the material you like. Win win.
