Remember that time I said opals are fugg ??

Am now eating my words BIG TIME.

Go shop the new WWAKE collection over at Catbird.

  1. I DEFENDED OPALS. Or, at least, I meant to, if I didn't actually do it. My dad had an opal ring* when I was younger that I loved

    * I don't defend elaborate man-jewelry but hippie-baby boomers, what are you going to do?

  2. also, the opal/black thing is hitting big - i've seen some interesting black metal (no, the other black metal) set with opals on etsy. not in the market for a ring, but i have black nails most of the time; i can clean that floor, mate.

  7. I love I opals BUT I'm going to say exactly what that other poster didn't want to hear, which is that OPALS BREAK. They're fine for occasional wear, but as an everyday forever ring, proceed only if you're fine with replacing the stones someday. My October baby friend didn't listen to me on this point and the opal in her engagement ring broke ON HER WEDDING DAY.
