Etsy Wonder: Laurie Brown

One-of-a-kind tiny peanut and pygmy seahorse cast in 14k gold by Laurie Brown of aubergine228. See more photos on her Flickr page.

I found Laurie on etsy a month or two ago and went out of my mind with excitement. I have a strange, delicate object I want to cast in silver and she has agreed to take on the project... If it works maybe I'll post pics here.

Yes, more sneakers

I just happened upon Keep, this great little store in my neighborhood. I'll admit I'm obsessed with sneakers. Is everybody sick to death??

Anton Corbijn: In Control

Speaking of Sam Riley, if you missed his performance as Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in the visually (and aurally) stunning Control, directed by Anton Corbijn, you missed out. Watch the trailer here while you wait for the US dvd release (looks like June).

But check out Anton Corbijn: In Control, a visual diary of the movie, with stills by Corbijn (who started as a rock & roll photographer), handwritten notes, drawings, etc.

Thanks to men.style.com for the heads up. Available on Amazon.

Sam Riley in Band of Outsiders

I'm a GQ fiend, what can I say. I love the almost-clashing patterns they've put together. And isn't his rumpled hair just the right touch?

From GQ, Februay 2008. Posted on the Band of Outsiders website.

Groom Style: The perfect sneaker

I still haven't found the pink sneakers. But behold these Court Legends by Tretorn, Keds, and Spring Court from men.style.com

Vintage Jewelry at Ruby Lane

I've decided to hold off on the fuchsia earrings. I think.

But check out everything else that came up when I searched "emerald cut" at Ruby Lane. They have a huge inventory of sparkly things, from rhinestones to semi-precious jewels to the fancy stuff, and a great search engine. (Thanks to Emily Anderson for the tip.)

I'm having an earring crisis

Ladies, I need your help. I found these 1940's sterling silver & fuchsia rhinestone earrings online today. They're not quite me. I'm more of a cast silver person... But they're f*cking fabulous, and they would perfectly complement the shoes that I am (probably) going to wear.

What do you think??

(I will disclose the amazing place I found these earrings - it's not ebay - once you help me decide whether or not to buy them!)

Groom Style: The Well-Dressed Rebel

A GQ guide to breaking the rules. That's what I'm talking about!

Queen Anne's Lace for the bride and groom!

I'm digging this Queen Anne's Lace boutonniere Martha B. posted on Nibs. Also digging this look on the groom. (From the British Wedding magazine.)

I emailed Kathryn at Snippet & Ink to get her advice about a matching bouquet and she sent me a slew of pictures. This one from The Bloomery is my favorite.

Thank you, ladies!

VeraMeat Rings

Lovely Rose Ring and Pirate Love Ring by VeraMeat on etsy. I think these are pretty, and super cool.

Indoor picnic by Emily Thompson

Wouldn't this be fabulous for a boho-meets-Alice-in-Wonderland spring wedding?

Tablescape by renegade floral designer Emily Thompson. How-to at Time Out New York.

More Vintage Wedding Dresses (at a different price point)

From The Frock. Seriously, if you're spending the money, why not go vintage Dior? You won't see your dress in anybody else's wedding pictures.

(My favorite is the Taffeta and tulle. Why am I having these ballerina urges?)

The Fusionistas

Rock show, cabaret performance, or boho wedding. Take your pick. Spread from last Sunday's New York Times Magazine. Follow the link for all the details on the models and designers. (Yes, that's Julian, er Sean, Lennon!)

I love the high tops with the suit. And the enormous headpiece! I'm noticing a trend.

Scottish Street Wear: Oddities

Speaking of hot guys from Edinburgh, check out Oddities, a contemporary label "inspired by the wilds of the north." Hands-down the coolest store I found when I was there. You've got to visit their site to appreciate the Nature Collage Tie.

Pale Pink Sneakers

Posted today by The Sartorialist. My groom would look slammin' in those...

Insanely Beautiful Lamp from Moss

It's white goose feathers on a steel frame, but doesn't it look like a peony? At Moss (hold your breath before you look at the price).

This one's for you, Peonies and Polaroids.
