I found my dream couch.

Isn't it dreamy?

I'm actually sort of relieved it's $5K because, like, that's not even in the REALM. If it were $2K I would gnash my teeth and try to make it happen, even though my couch budget at the moment is precisely $0.0K

    2. ha! that couch is killer. as un-pc as it is, i will only buy leather furniture from here on out. it's virtually indestructible, and it only gets sexier as it gets older. i nearly puked when we paid for our couch, but it's a classic design and we'll have it FOREVER.

    4. eq3. they had some sort of "scratch and save event" when we bought it, and i think we ended up with 15% off. the original price was around 2200. i have a feeling i recently got an email from them saying that they're having the same event right now. i'd look into it.

    5. Cool. We *truly* do not have the funds right now, but I plan to stalk sofas for the next year

    6. completely get it. after going through two ikea sofas (that didn't last for shit) in about six years, we decided to buckle up and save like crazy. it was by far the biggest purchase we'd ever made (besides our home, of course), so it was a seriously scary commitment. totally worth it.

    7. for team veg, velvet microfiber is pretty damn durable, and you don't have to worry about 1) stains or 2) that spooky waking-up-on-leather feel.

West Elm (ugh) actually has similar options. Thrive has great shapes, limited leather choices though.

  5. This is pretty nice, but I remain certain that the only best way out of budget sofa ever is the de sede ds 1025 rom Logan's Run

  6. I've been couch shopping for a year. We just purchased this beauty: From Scandinavian designs. It looks ugly in the pictured fabric but you can custom choose the fabric and leg color. We chose a charcoal grey and it was only 1100.

If you're really into leather though, they have leather options starting at like 1600. Lifetime warranty on frame (kiln-dried hardwood!) and suspension. 5 year warranty on the foam. Super sturdy forever furniture.

I am also glad that your dream sofa is 5k because it makes me totally not regret our sofa choice and get buyer's regret. Cause that is a beautiful sofa.

  7. ooh, that is real real nice.

the one time i've owned a nice sofa (no longer; it departed with a dude) it was from empiric, and was *somewhat* more economical, but it looks like their selection is more expensive and less good-looking now. i am now saved from ever entertaining the thought of a leather sofa thanks to my small, furry scratching machine. :'(
