I think they become extraneous when they're provided and not really "needed".
Chinatown sounds like a good bet.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18209533406055486161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468279200135971946.post-54264098205102553102008-06-15T12:56:00.000-07:002008-06-15T12:56:00.000-07:00Whelp. We have a street with two Chinese restaurants and a wholesaler on it. It's known as Little China here. Scotland is small. And none too multi-cultural.carahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09351483253361159121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468279200135971946.post-29381286153384683082008-06-15T09:59:00.000-07:002008-06-15T09:59:00.000-07:00My uncle, who's a potter, has already started maki...My uncle, who's a potter, has already started making cups for everybody. (Isn't that sweet?) A handmade, immediately useful favor - it means we can skip the coffee/tea cup rental.

But I still might take a wee trip to Chinatown... Just to take a look at the parasols. It would be a considerate gift, as you point out, peonies ;Peast side bridehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06206689296805893265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468279200135971946.post-15112733574143175722008-06-15T03:03:00.000-07:002008-06-15T03:03:00.000-07:00I thought about parasols too, but I haven't found ...I thought about parasols too, but I haven't found anywhere cheap enough to buy 50 in the UK. I always thought they were a great idea but I've read a lot of people describe them as extraneous crap recently. But with an outdoor wedding, in August, I think that they're actually quite a considerate thing to buy for your guests. Especially if your ceremony is outside and in the sun, people aren't going to enjoy it if they're too exposed. I'd have them instead of favours though, so they didn't seem so extravagant!carahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09351483253361159121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6468279200135971946.post-14946136216244655422008-06-14T20:25:00.000-07:002008-06-14T20:25:00.000-07:00I had not EVEN thought of that....! Like, you know, 60 parasols. BUT the wedding is taking place just before sunset. in September. In Joshua tree. The middle of the desert........ It might be necessary....
